Product descriptions from the supplier

Description

 Product Introduction

The excitation transformer is a device specially designed to provide three-phase AC excitation power for the generator excitation system. The excitation system converts three-phase power into DC power for the generator rotor via silicon-controlled rectifiers (SCRs), forming the generator excitation magnetic field. By adjusting the firing angle of the SCRs in the excitation system, the generator terminal voltage and reactive power can be regulated.
It is usually connected to the generator outlet. Since the voltage at the generator outlet is relatively high while the rated voltage of the excitation system is low, an excitation transformer is required to step down the voltage.

Product Features

  • The load of the excitation transformer is an inductive load after rectification, and the secondary current contains a large number of high-order harmonic components.Meanwhile, overvoltage impacts also exist. Therefore, the manufacturing requirements for generator excitation transformers are more stringent.
  • By reducing magnetic flux density and current density, strengthening inter-turn insulation, adopting advanced casting transformer partial discharge control technology and internal stress control process, the internal insulation of the excitation transformer is optimized, thus ensuring the key performance of the transformer.
  • A shielding grounding screen installed between the high-voltage and low-voltage windings effectively shields the parasitic capacitance between windings and suppresses the influence of harmonics on the excitation system.
  • The product features strong overload capacity, low loss, low noise, maintenance-free operation and energy saving. It is moisture-proof, mildew-proof, salt-spray resistant, with excellent heat dissipation, and adapts to high-altitude, high-temperature and harsh environments.

Why Do Substations Use Stones, Gravel, Pebbles, and Crushed Rock?In substations, equipment such as power and distribution transformers, transmission lines, voltage transformers, current transformers, and disconnect switches all require grounding. Beyond grounding, we will now explore in depth why gravel and crushed stone are commonly used in substations. Though they appear ordinary, these stones play a critical safety and functional role.In substation grounding design—especially when multiple gr

Why Does the Transformer Core Need to Be Grounded?During operation, the transformer core, along with the metal structures, parts, and components that fix the core and windings, are all situated in a strong electric field. Under the influence of this electric field, they acquire a relatively high potential with respect to ground. If the core is not grounded, a potential difference will exist between the core and the grounded clamping structures and tank, which may lead to intermittent discharge.I
