Description
The RDS series outdoor high-voltage disconnector is designed for 126 kV, 145 kV, 252 kV, and 363 kV three-phase AC power systems. It performs no-load line switching, equipment isolation, and bus-transfer current switching.

The disconnector uses a double-post horizontal telescopic structure with a single-arm foldable conductive arm and plug-type contacts, forming a horizontal insulating break when open. Driving components and balance springs are sealed inside the conductive tube, protected from environmental exposure, resulting in a compact, corrosion-resistant assembly.

An earthing switch can be fitted on one or both sides. The disconnector is motor-operated with three-pole linkage for 126-252 kV, and single-pole motor operation with three-pole linkage capability for 363 kV. The earthing switch is manually operated for 126-252 kV, with manual or motor options for 363 kV, which uses a two-step opening and closing motion for reliable plug-type contact.

Key Features

  • Anti-corrosion telescopic structure :Single-arm foldable conductive arm with driving components and balance springs sealed inside the conductive tube, made of high-conductivity aluminum alloy for light weight, high strength, and corrosion resistance in coastal, industrial, and harsh environments
  • Self-cleaning plug-type contact:Self-wiping action keeps contact surfaces clean; short-circuit current increases clamping force automatically for reliable current transfer; flexible connection through the foldable joint eliminates moving contact maintenance
  • Versatile earthing switch:earthing switch can be installed on one or both sides; 363 kV version uses a two-step plug-type closing motion for reliable high-current withstand
  • Proven operating mechanism :Motor mechanism with three-pole linkage for 126-252 kV; single-pole or three-pole motor operation for 363 kV; manual option available for earthing switches
  • Factory assembled: Complete assembly and adjustment completed before delivery, minimizing on-site installation and commissioning work

Frequently asked questions

  • The earthing switch on the bypass bus side of the bypass circuit must be operable only when the disconnector on the bypass bus side of the bypass circuit breaker is open.
  • The bypass bus disconnector of the circuit breaker must be operable only when the circuit breaker is open and the sectionalizing disconnector connecting the disconnector to the busbar is open.

A live tank breaker relies on porcelain columns, air, or composite insulating materials for phase-to-ground insulation. A dead tank breaker uses SF₆ (or other insulating gases) inside a sealed metal tank, providing high insulation strength unaffected by external humidity or contamination.
