What is the purpose of a ring main unit RMU?

A:Ring main unit (RMU) is used to distribute electrical power in a medium - voltage distribution network. It allows for sectionalizing the network, isolating faults, and enabling power transfer between different sections of the ring - shaped power network, ensuring reliable power supply.

What does the RMU stand for?

A:RMU stands for Ring Main Unit. It is a type of electrical switchgear used in medium-voltage electrical distribution systems, typically for distributing power in a ring circuit configuration.

FAQ
Q: Is the installation process of environmentally friendly cabinets more complex than traditional cabinets?
A:
No, the installation process is basically the same as that of traditional cabinets and even simpler in some aspects. They do not require special SF6 gas filling and recycling equipment; only basic steps such as cabinet fixing, cable connection, and insulation gas filling (for gas-insulated types) are needed. Manufacturers usually provide detailed installation manuals and on-site guidance. Professional electricians can complete the installation after simple training.
Q: What are the requirements for the installation environment of environmentally friendly cabinets?
A:
The installation environment should be free of severe vibration, corrosive gases (e.g., sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide), and flammable/explosive substances. The ambient temperature should be between -40℃ and +70℃, and relative humidity should not exceed 95% (without condensation). The installation site should have sufficient space for maintenance and ventilation, and the foundation should be flat and firm to ensure the cabinet's stability.
