Description

Rockwill Group is a leading high-tech enterprise in China, specializing in the R&D, manufacturing, and sales of medium- and high-voltage switchgear and components for over 20 years. Following Pinggao Electric, XD Group, and XJ Electric, Rockwill Group is one of the few domestic manufacturers in China that has independently mastered the core technology of 170kV SF₆-free dead tank circuit breakers and successfully commercialized the product.

The RHD Series 170kV Dead-Tank SF6 Circuit Breaker redefines high-voltage power control with cutting-edge gas insulation technology and robust structural design. It features a highly sealed grounded metal tank filled with premium SF6 gas that delivers lightning-fast arc extinction (<40ms) and superior dielectric recovery.
Covering the standard 170kV rated voltage , it is engineered for maximum reliability in demanding transmission networks. Standing as the trusted choice for high-demand high-voltage scenarios, it perfectly fits your grid upgrade, new construction, or special industrial needs with unmatched short-circuit breaking capabilities.

Features

  • 9-Grade Seismic Resistance: Low-center-of-gravity dead-tank design withstands up to 9-degree earthquake intensity, ensuring rock-solid performance in seismic-prone areas a proven advantage of the RHD series.
  • Ultra-Efficient Arc Extinction & Long Lifespan: The self-blast puffer principle combined with SF6's strong electronegativity enables rated short-circuit breaking current up to 63kA. Boasting over 10,000 mechanical cycles and low contact wear, it slashes replacement and maintenance costs while maintaining stable operation.

  • Premium Insulation & Safety Design: The grounded metal tank completely encloses live parts, eliminating external flashover risks and making it ideal for harsh environments. Equipped with anti-misoperation interlocking devices and precision density relays, it ensures uncompromised quality and operational safety.
  • Modular Flexibility for Any Layout: On-demand built-in current transformers (up to 15 for measurement/protection), integrated voltage dividers, and standardized module interfaces enable flexible combinations. Ideal for space-constrained substations and diverse outdoor design needs.
  • Extreme Environmental Adaptability: Thrives in harsh conditions: -50℃ to +55℃ ambient temperature, optimized for altitude up to 3,000m, and Class IV air pollution. Resists heavy icing and strong winds, providing reliable protection anywhere from polar regions to tropical zones.
  • Maintenance-Free Spring Mechanism: Oil-free spring-operated structure delivers stable performance, low noise, and high reliability. With an ultra-low gas leakage rate (<0.1% per year) and long service intervals, it cuts long-term operational workload to zero.

Operating principle

  • High breaking current: Self-energy principle:The arc combustion makes SF6 gas in the thermal expansion chamber fiercely expanding to generate gas flow blowing to nozzle to the nozzle to extinguish thearc.
  • Low breaking current: Puff type principle:SF6 gas in the compression chamber is compressed to generate gas flow, blowing to the nozzle to extinguish the arc, which then extinguishes.
