Document description

This document describes dead‑tank SF₆ circuit‑breaker complying with IEC 62271‑100 international standard for high‑voltage AC circuit‑breakers. It fully covers structural‑working principles, operating‑environment requirements, scope of supply, packaging‑transport‑storage guidance, on‑site installation‑commissioning procedures, periodic maintenance & overhaul criteria and decommissioning instructions.

The equipment adopts earthed metal modular tank‑type construction, integrates through‑core built‑in current transformers and self‑energy arc‑extinguishing technology, fitted with spring operating mechanism equipped with both mechanical and electrical anti‑pumping protection. Delivered as a complete factory‑assembled unit without requirement for on‑site gas‑chamber disassembly.

It supports indoor, outdoor and rooftop deployment for power‑plant, substation and heavy‑industry power‑transmission projects. The manual also includes SF₆ gas property appendix, step‑by‑step installation workflow, commissioning‑inspection check‑items, graded maintenance schedule and overhaul trigger conditions, together with delivery‑document checklist.

Service boundaries including altitude, temperature‑humidity, seismic acceleration and pollution class are clearly stated. Complete‑unit replacement helps minimise outage duration during repair, delivering comprehensive technical reference for specification, site construction and daily operation‑maintenance.

Frequently asked questions

Tank disassembly is NOT required for normal commissioning. Assembly, vacuum treatment and SF6 filling are finished in factory. Only leak‑check and temperature‑corrected pressure adjustment shall be done on‑site. Tank disassembly is only needed for leak repair, to prevent internal contamination from site environment.

The density relay features temperature compensation. Gas‑make‑up alarm triggers at intermediate pressure threshold for refilling reminder. When pressure drops further to lock‑out setpoint, opening circuit gets blocked (closing remains available). Fault breaking must be avoided; leak troubleshooting and SF6 refilling shall be carried out promptly.

Standard unit operates ‑40℃~+40℃. SF6 liquefies under extremely low ambient temperature, lowering gas density and degrading arc‑quenching & insulation performance, triggering lock‑out. Special order with anti‑liquefaction measures is mandatory for frigid‑climate sites, standard version cannot be directly applied.

No. 10 000 cycles represent no‑load mechanical endurance. Short‑circuit interruption erodes contacts. Allowable fault‑breaking count depends on short‑circuit magnitude. Major overhaul shall be scheduled after reaching corresponding short‑circuit breaking limit.
