Rockwill

In smart medium voltage reclosers such as Rockwill units, the integral CT is commonly specified at 400/1 A. The reason is not that "1 A is more accurate." It is that a 1 A secondary suits a digital controller, reduces the secondary burden, tolerates the long cable runs of pole mounted installations, and compresses the secondary short circuit current into a range where electronic sampling is comfortable. At the same secondary circuit impedance, the rated burden of a 1 A CT is only 1/25 of that of

Across the Rockwill medium voltage line voltage regulation portfolio, AVR is the functional umbrella term for an automatic voltage regulator, RVR is Rockwill's on-load step voltage regulator series name (commonly the single-phase RVR-1 and the three-phase RVR-3), and SVR is generally used as the series or model designation for three-phase feeder step voltage regulators (commonly the SVR-3). At the core, all three medium voltage on-load solutions share the same architecture: an oil-immersed autot

IntroductionAs a leading SF6-free switchgear manufacturer and SF6-free RMU manufacturer, we at ROCKWILL are engineering the next generation of environmentally friendly switchgear for the global power distribution industry. For decades, sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) has been the standard insulating medium in compact MV switchgear — but with a global warming potential roughly 23,500 times that of CO₂, the industry is accelerating toward SF6 elimination. Our SF6 free ring main unit and SF6-free medium

Is "pure air" insulation finally a credible replacement for SF6 in medium-voltage switchgear? We break it down on the metrics that matter."Pure air" is the marketing name for a new generation of SF6-free insulation systems that use conditioned, dry, compressed air — sometimes at higher pressure, sometimes mixed with small amounts of climate-friendly gases — to replace sulfur hexafluoride inside the sealed tank. As utilities and industrial sites move away from SF6, the question is no longer wheth

For decades, sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) has been the default insulation and arc-quenching medium in medium-voltage switchgear. It is excellent electrically — but it is also the most potent greenhouse gas known, with a global warming potential around 23,500 times that of CO2 and an atmospheric lifetime measured in millennia. As F-gas regulations tighten, dry air switchgear has become the leading SF6-free alternative. Here is how the two compare on the factors that actually matter in a procurement

G3 (Green Gas for Grid) is a sustainable alternative to SF6, consisting of a fluoronitrile-based gas mixture (e.g., 3M™ Novec™ 4710) blended with CO₂. It provides equivalent insulation and arc-quenching performance while reducing the global warming potential by more than 99% compared to SF6. RMR-33...35...40.5 is a medium voltage ring main unit insulated with G3 gas (a sustainable alternative to SF6).It has the advantages of compact structure, fully enclosed, fully insulated, long service life,
