Project Background

Vietnam's tropical monsoon climate causes annual floods lasting 4-5 months, severely damaging power infrastructure. The 2020 central Vietnam floods paralyzed grids, delaying rescue operations. Traditional circuit breakers fail under water immersion, and manual restoration is inefficient. Although flood control infrastructure has improved, rapid power recovery remains a critical gap. ​Recloser​ devices, if unprotected, are highly vulnerable to flood-induced short circuits. Enhancing their ​Immersion Protection​ is essential for disaster resilience.

 

​Solution

​1. Flood Resilience Upgrade for Recloser Devices

  • Advanced Immersion Protection:
    • IP68-rated enclosures​ with dual-layer sealing (EPDM rubber gaskets + stainless steel compression bolts) prevent floodwater ingress. ​Immersion Protection​ performance is validated per ISO 20653 pressure tests.
    • Critical circuit components​ (e.g., control boards) are encapsulated in hydrophobic gel, adding secondary ​Immersion Protection​ against condensation.
  • Elevated Installation:
