Description

Drop-out fuse serves as a commonly used short-circuit protection device for 10-38kV distribution line branches and distribution transformers. It adapts to various outdoor environments and supports economical operation and maintenance, with wide application in 10-38kV distribution systems and primary-side protection of distribution transformers for equipment switching and disconnection operations. This 15kV loadbreak model adds an arc chute structure to realize load breaking capability, expanding the application flexibility of overhead line protection devices.

Overview of 15kV Outdoor Loadbreak Drop-out Fuse Cutout

This loadbreak fuse cutout applies to 10kV to 38kV overhead distribution systems. Equipped with a dedicated arc chute structure, it delivers both short-circuit protection and load breaking functions, suitable for overhead line protection and distribution transformer primary-side control. The rated current of the device ranges from 100A to 200A, which can match the load requirements of most medium-voltage distribution scenarios. It supports direct pole-mounted installation, adapting to routine switching operations and fault protection demands of commercial power distribution and industrial power supply systems.

Core Design Features of 15kV Loadbreak Fuse Cutout

Weather and Corrosion Resistant Construction

Two insulator material options are available for different application demands. For porcelain insulators, the porcelain body connects with hardware fittings through cement pouring, using Por-Rok anchoring cement manufactured by CGM INC from the United States. This cement features fast solidification, high mechanical strength and low expansion coefficient, supporting stable performance in long-term outdoor exposure. For polymer insulators, hardware fittings are crimped onto a fiberglass rod, with the housing and sheds made of high-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber. The insulator is formed by one-piece injection molding, with stable sealing performance and tracking and erosion resistance. All ferrous parts are processed by hot dip galvanizing, with a zinc coating thickness of over 86μm, which supports corrosion resistance in humid and saline outdoor environments.

Single Vent Interruption Structure

This fuse cutout adopts a single vent design. When the fuse cutout performs interruption operation, exhaust gas discharges downward and outward. This structure prevents rainwater from intruding into the internal chamber, avoids damage to upper lines caused by free gas, and contributes to improved interruption capacity under fault conditions.

Conductive System Configuration

All copper casting parts are made of bronze or brass, with stable mechanical strength and electrical conductivity. All contact surfaces are silver-plated and adopt a convex design, which reduces contact resistance and maintains consistent conductive performance. High-strength memory copper alloy sheets ensure stable contact with the lower contact without interference when the fuse element drops out. An arc-shortening copper rod is configured to enhance interruption capacity during short-circuit faults.

Loadbreak Arc Chamber Design

For the loadbreak type fuse cutout, the arc chamber is made of special reinforced nylon material. This material has stable mechanical strength, anti-aging and flame retardant properties, making the device suitable for installation in areas with high ultraviolet radiation, high altitude and coastal regions with high salinity.
