What is an Online UPS?

On-line uninterruptible power supply definition

Online uninterruptible power supply is a kind of equipment that can provide continuous, stable and clean power supply, mainly used in occasions with high power quality requirements, such as data centers, server rooms, medical equipment, precision instruments and so on.

Component

Rectifier: Converts alternating current to direct current.

Battery pack: Stores electrical energy to provide energy in the event of a mains interruption.

Inverter: Converts direct current to alternating current.

Static bypass switch: Used to connect the load directly to the mains when the UPS is faulty or maintained.

Control circuit: monitor and control the operating status of the entire system.

Input/output filters: Improve the power quality of the input and output.

Working principle

Rectifier: First, mains (alternating current) is fed into the rectifier to convert it into direct current, providing stable DC power to the inverter and charging the battery pack.

Battery pack: When the mains is interrupted, the battery pack immediately supplies power to the inverter to ensure that the output is not interrupted.

Inverter: converts direct current back to alternating current to supply the load. Even when the mains is normal, the inverter is always in the working state to ensure that the output is regulated and stable alternating current.

Static Bypass: When the UPS is faulty or in maintenance, you can manually or automatically switch to the static bypass mode to directly deliver mains power to the load, bypassing other parts of the UPS.

Advantage

Zero interruption time: In the event of mains interruption, because the battery pack directly supplies power to the inverter, the switching time is almost zero, ensuring the continuity of power supply.

Voltage regulation function: The combination of rectifier and inverter provides a stable voltage output and eliminates fluctuations in the mains.

Isolated interference: The pure sine wave AC output by the inverter can effectively isolate the noise and interference from the mains.

Efficient battery management: Intelligent charging algorithms extend battery life and reduce maintenance costs.

Remote monitoring: Supports remote monitoring and management over the network to learn about the UPS status in real time.

Does a grid-connected inverter need a grid to operate?
Grid-connected inverters do need to be connected to the grid to function properly. These inverters are designed to convert direct current (DC) from renewable energy sources, such as solar photovoltaic panels or wind turbines, into alternating current (AC) that synchronizes with the grid in order to feed power into the public grid. Here are some of the key features and operating conditions of grid-connected inverters:The basic working principle of grid-connected inverterThe basic working principl

What is a Resistance Temperature Detector?Resistance Temperature Detector DefinitionA Resistance Temperature Detector (also known as a Resistance Thermometer or RTD) is an electronic device used to determine the temperature by measuring the resistance of an electrical wire. This wire is referred to as a temperature sensor. If we want to measure temperature with high accuracy, an RTD is the ideal solution, as it has good linear characteristics over a wide range of temperatures. Other common elect
