What is a Shunt Resistor?

Shunt resistance definition

A shunt resistor is a high-precision resistor that uses a very low ammeter resistance to measure the flow of current through a circuit. It is the resistance of a conductor in parallel with a circuit. Because of its particularity, it is generally used in precision electronic products. The smaller the resistance value of the shunt resistance, the more obvious the shunt effect.

Shunt resistance characteristic

  • Good structure

  • High stability

Resistance value precision is accurate

  • Small size for easy installation

  • High temperature resistance, low noise

  • Good safety performance

  • Good weldability

Shunt resistor application range

  • Communication system

  • Electronic complete machine

  • Automatic control of the power loop as current limiting

  • Flow equalization or sampling detection

How Grounding Resistor Cabinets Protect Transformers?
In power systems, transformers, as core equipment, are critical to the safe operation of the entire grid. However, due to various reasons, transformers are often exposed to multiple threats. In such cases, the importance of grounding resistor cabinets becomes evident, as they provide indispensable protection for transformers.Firstly, grounding resistor cabinets can effectively protect transformers from lightning strikes. The instantaneous high voltage caused by lightning can severely damage tran

What is an Inductive Ballast?Inductive Ballast definitionInductive Ballast is an iron core inductance coil, the nature of inductance is that when the current in the coil changes, it will cause a change in magnetic flux in the coil, resulting in induced electromotive force, and its direction is opposite to the direction of the current change, thus hindering the current change.Working principle of Inductive BallastWhen the 220V 50Hz AC power supply is applied in the switch closing circuit, the cur

What is Inductance?
What is Inductance?Inductance definitionA property of a conductor measured by the ratio of the induced electromotive force or voltage in the conductor to the rate of change of the current that produces it. A constant current produces a stable magnetic field, a changing current (AC) or a fluctuating DC produces a changing magnetic field, which in turn induces electromotive force on a conductor in this magnetic field. The magnitude of the induced electromotive force is proportional to the rate of
