Document description

This PDF technical‑specification document defines technical requirements for outdoor ground‑mounted overhead‑connected medium‑voltage switchgear, used for tender specification drafting, supplier qualification evaluation and project technical review.

The equipment shall comply with ENA TS 41‑36 Issue 3, together with referenced BS‑EN standards including BS EN 60137:2017, BS 7671:2018+A4:2026, BS EN 60529:1992, BS EN 50522:2010 and BS EN 61936‑1.

This specification specifies non‑oil insulation‑interruption requirement, cabinet IP45 protection degree, minimum 900 mm bushing creepage distance, bushing terminal cantilever load requirement, two‑stage SF₆ gas pressure alarm & interlock logic, auxiliary‑terminal construction rules, internal wiring colour‑coding rules, X/R ratio requirements for short‑circuit duties, M2 mechanical‑endurance and E2 electrical‑endurance classification.

It includes four appendices covering technical‑specification sheet, project‑specific addendum, pre‑commissioning & periodic maintenance requirements and supplier information‑checklist, requiring suppliers to submit completed datasheets, drawings, maintenance manuals and type‑test evidence.

Low‑maintenance oriented design is required; customised project‑specific adjustments are permitted under defined variation rules. Please contact us for completed filled‑in specification sheets and full type‑test documentation.

Frequently asked questions

IP45 means dust‑protected and protected against low‑pressure water‑jet, suitable for long‑term outdoor deployment with cabinet door closed. Please contact us for enclosure‑grade explanation.

The first‑stage signal triggers early‑warning alarm; second‑stage triggers alarm plus operation interlock to prevent switching under insufficient insulation gas pressure. Please contact us for gas‑monitoring setting guidance.

It prohibits oil‑based insulating or interrupting medium, forcing adoption of vacuum or SF6 solutions, eliminating fire‑risk from oil leakage. Please contact us for insulation‑medium comparison.
