Product Detail
Description
The SF6 Gas-insulated RMU (Ring Main Unit) is a compact, high-performance medium-voltage electrical equipment designed for power distribution networks. It utilizes SF6 gas as the insulating and arc-extinguishing medium, integrating core components such as load switches, grounding switches, and busbars into a sealed enclosure. Widely applied in urban power grids, industrial parks, commercial complexes, and renewable energy projects, it plays a critical role in controlling, protecting, and distributing electrical power efficiently and safely.

The ring network switchgear is suitable for receiving and distributing electric energy in the power network of 50Hz and 12kV. The main switch in the cabinet is SF6 switch.

Key Features
  • Superior SF6 Insulation Performance: SF6 gas provides exceptional dielectric strength and arc-extinguishing capabilities, ensuring stable operation in medium-voltage environments (typically 12kV, 24kV, etc.). It effectively blocks current leakage, minimizing risks of short circuits and flashovers to guarantee grid reliability.
  • Compact and Space-Saving Design: The sealed, integrated structure reduces overall size significantly, making it ideal for space-constrained installations such as indoor substations or urban areas with limited land. It simplifies on-site layout and improves land utilization.
  • Enhanced Safety and Reliability: Equipped with comprehensive mechanical and electrical interlocks to prevent misoperations (e.g., incorrect switching or grounding). Built-in SF6 gas leakage monitoring systems provide real-time alerts, complying with international safety standards and ensuring safe operation and maintenance.
  • Low Maintenance and Long Lifespan: The hermetic enclosure isolates internal components from dust, moisture, and corrosive elements, reducing wear and tear. This design enables long-term maintenance-free operation, with a service life of up to 20 years, lowering lifecycle costs.
  • Flexible Adaptability: Supports multiple wiring configurations (e.g., ring network, radial distribution) and can be seamlessly connected with transformers, cables, and other equipment. It accommodates diverse grid topologies, meeting varying power distribution needs in industrial, commercial, and utility scenarios.
  • Environmental and Economic Balance: SF6 gas is recyclable and reusable, minimizing resource waste. Its high efficiency and durability reduce energy loss and equipment replacement frequency, balancing environmental responsibility with long-term economic benefits.

Working conditions

  • Ambient temperature: upper limit +40°C, lower limit -25°C.
  • Altitude: the altitude does not exceed 2000m.
  • Relative temperature: the daily average is not more than 95%; the monthly average is not more than 90%.
  • Surrounding environment: the surrounding air is not obviously polluted by corrosive gas or combustible gas, water vapor, etc.
  • No frequent violent vibration.

What is the difference between a dielectric and an insulator?
What is the difference between a dielectric and an insulator?
Dielectrics and insulators are distinguished primarily by their applications. One of the main differences is that a dielectric can store electrical energy by becoming polarized in an electric field, whereas an insulator resists the flow of electrons to prevent current conduction. Other key differences between them are outlined in the comparison chart below.Definition of DielectricA dielectric material is a type of insulator that contains few or no free electrons. When subjected to an electric fi

Fault Analysis and Treatment of Oil-Immersed Transformers
Oil Leakage at Welded JointsOil leakage at welded joints primarily stems from poor welding quality, such as incomplete or detached welds, and defects like pinholes and gas pores. Although oil-immersed transformers are initially coated with solder and paint during manufacturing, potentially masking these issues temporarily, the defects tend to surface during operation. Additionally, electromagnetic vibration can cause weld cracks, leading to oil leakage. To resolve such leaks, the first critical s

What losses occur during operation of the transformer? How to reduce losses?
Transformers experience various types of losses during operation, primarily categorized into two main types: copper losses and iron losses.Copper LossesCopper losses, also known as I²R losses, are caused by the electrical resistance of the transformer windings—typically made of copper. As current flows through the windings, energy is dissipated in the form of heat. These losses are proportional to the square of the load current (I²R), meaning they increase significantly with high
