Vziman's extreme-cold automatic voltage regulator has run flawlessly for over 3 years in Russia, enduring -45°C winters in Siberian substations.
MOSCOW, June 10, 2026 —— Vziman Electric today officially announced that its medium-voltage line automatic voltage regulator, specifically engineered for extreme cold environments, has delivered a perfect performance throughout a rigorous three-year field test in Russia. Even in the face of extreme freezing conditions at -45°C, the equipment has maintained an exceptional operating state. This milestone achievement marks Vziman's major technological leap in core power transmission and distribution equipment for ultra-cold regions.
According to feedback from a Russian partner power grid company, since being commissioned to the grid in 2022, Vziman’s automatic voltage regulators have been in continuous, fault-free service for over 36 months across substations and transmission lines in high-latitude regions such as Siberia and the Far East. During this period, the equipment effortlessly withstood severe winter tests where temperatures plummeted below -50°C.
"Whether it is the mechanical operation of the tap changer, the accuracy of voltage regulation, or the overall control system, there have been absolutely no common issues such as low-temperature jamming, insulation degradation, or seal aging and leakage," the grid's Operations and Maintenance Director highly praised. "All operational metrics have remained incredibly stable. Its outstanding cold-resistance performance has far exceeded our initial expectations for extreme-cold equipment."

To thoroughly overcome the ultimate low-temperature challenges of -45°C and below, Vziman's R&D team approached the problem from the perspectives of material science and product structure, implementing an in-depth, systematic reconfiguration of the voltage regulator:
Vziman's Technical Director concluded: "The 'excellent condition' reported by our Russian clients after long-term field testing is the ultimate recognition of our technical team's pragmatic, pioneering, and dedicated research spirit. Building on this foundation, Vziman will continue to tackle deeper technical challenges, remaining committed to providing global power grid users with more robust and reliable power equipment solutions."
