Description

Product Introduction

The HV disconnect switch is outdoor high-voltage equipment for 50Hz/60Hz three-phase AC systems. This disconnect switch performs no-load line switching, circuit rearrangement and power flow regulation, while providing safe insulation for busbars, circuit breakers and other HV devices. The HV disconnect switch can switch inductive, capacitive and bus transfer current.
With a single-post double-arm scissor telescopic structure, the disconnect switch fits perfectly for busbar layout. It can be mounted directly under busbars with small footprint, delivering outstanding energy-saving benefits for substations with double busbars and bypass busbars.
Matched with JW10 earthing switch, the HV disconnect switch supports lower-layer busbar grounding; upper-layer busbars need independent earthing switches. 363kV and 550kV disconnect switch adopt SRCJ8 motor actuators for single-pole operation and three-pole linkage; 126kV and 252kV HV disconnect switch use SRCJ3 motor actuators for three-pole linkage. The earthing switch is fitted with SRCS manual actuator for synchronous three-pole operation.
The  disconnect switch has passed official industry certification. Its structural design and overall performance comply with national standards, reaching international advanced level of similar HV disconnect switch products.
The HV disconnect switch is composed of three single poles and actuators, including base, post insulator, operating insulator and conductive assembly. Conductive parts consist of gear box, foldable conductive arms and fixed contacts for overhead busbars.
Driven by the actuator and four-link scissor mechanism, the disconnect switch completes closing and opening operations, forming stable insulation clearance after switch-on.

Main Characteristics

  • Excellent conductive structure: Open layout with central conductor arrangement; balance spring adopts aluminum cover sealing. Key transmission parts are exposed for easy installation and debugging. Bearing with dust cover and sealed structure ensures good dustproof performance.
  • Large contact clamping area: Double-arm scissor structure enables wide rated contact coverage, making the HV disconnect switch suitable for both soft and hard busbars.
  • Open visible gear box, convenient for installation, debugging and maintenance. Integrated crank arm design reduces transmission links and improves efficiency and reliability. Double-bearing rotating shaft ensures flexible and stable operation of the disconnect switch.
  • Electromechanical separation design: Conductive components, springs and mechanical driving parts are isolated, avoiding current interference and improving the operational stability of the HV disconnect switch.
  • Supports one-key sequence control and double confirmation function expansion.

  • Confirm whether the HV disconnect switch is matched with earthing switch.
  • Clarify soft or hard type of upper busbar.
  • Provide outer diameter of tubular busbar if required.
  • Select installation layout: cross-over or parallel arrangement for the disconnect switch.
  • Confirm actuator model, motor voltage, control voltage and auxiliary switch contact quantity.

FAQ for High voltage disconnect switch

Q: How do these 550kV disconnectors (Siemens, Hitachi, GE, and XD Group) perform in terms of key electrical parameters such as rated voltage, rated current, and withstand current?
A:

Basic Electrical Parameters

  • Rated Voltage: All four models from Siemens, Hitachi Energy, GE, and Pinggao are rated for 550 kV.

  • Rated Current: The Siemens, Hitachi, and Pinggao models are rated for 4000A. The GE PKG Gen3-550 offers a higher rated current of 5000A, making it suitable for applications with higher power flow requirements.

  • Short-Circuit Withstand: All models demonstrate identical performance, with a short-time withstand current of 63 kA for 3 seconds.

  • Peak Withstand Current: All models share the same peak withstand current rating of 171 kA.

Q: What are the interlocking regulations for bypass disconnectors in thermal power plants and substations?
A:
The interlocking regulations for bypass disconnectors in thermal power plants and substations are as follows:
  • The bypass disconnector of each line can only be operated when the bypass circuit breaker is open and its bypass bus disconnector is closed. For the operation of the line bypass disconnector, it can only be operated when its outgoing line earthing switch is open.
  • The bypass bus-side disconnector of the bypass circuit breaker can only be operated when the bypass circuit breaker is open and the disconnector connected for bus tie operation is open.
  • The earthing switch on the bypass bus side of the bypass circuit can only be operated when the disconnector on the bypass bus side of the bypass circuit breaker is open.
  • The earthing switch on the bypass circuit breaker side of the bypass circuit can only be operated when the bypass circuit breaker and its bypass bus-side disconnector are open, and the disconnector connected for bus tie operation is open.

    1. Operating Principle of the DisconnectorThe operating mechanism of the disconnector is connected to the active pole of the disconnector via a connecting tube. The bevel gears inside the base drive the insulating pillar on the other side to rotate in the opposite direction, thereby achieving opening and closing operations. The active pole, through inter-pole linkage tubes, drives
