Cameroon Electricity Authority Delegation Successfully Inspects and Accepts Rockwell's 30kV/20,000kVA Three-Phase Voltage Regulator

From May 17-20, 2025, a technical delegation from the Cameroon Electricity Authority visited Rockwell to conduct the final acceptance of the 30kV/20,000kVA three-phase automatic voltage regulator custom-developed for Cameroon’s national grid. During the four-day inspection, the delegation focused on testing the regulator’s core component—the on-load tap-changer (OLTC) supplied by Germany’s Maschinenfabrik Rheinhausen (MR). “Selecting MR’s tap-changer was pivotal to this collaboration,” stated a project representative.” By integrating MR’s vacuum arc-extinguishing technology with Rockwell’s intelligent control solutions, we extend maintenance intervals—a critical advancement for reducing grid operation costs in Africa. Cameroon faces dual pressures of rapid urbanization and surging electricity demand. Its national energy strategy explicitly prioritizes deploying smart voltage regulation equipment to reduce transmission and distribution losses. The newly accepted 30kV regulator will serve as a technical benchmark for nationwide grid modernization.
